About
Pose Library is a figure drawing practice tool that helps artists train consistently with timed pose reference sessions when live drawing is not available.
Do the makers of Pose Library dislike drawing from live models or want in-person sessions to disappear?
Absolutely not.
We love drawing from live models. In fact, we prefer it.
Let's be clear: nothing replaces drawing from a real model.
Not photos, not apps, not this website.
What Pose Library is
Pose Library is built for artists who want a practical way to keep up with figure drawing practice between live sessions.
It combines pose reference, timed sessions, and artist-focused practice tools into a format that is easy to return to regularly.
The goal is not to replace the studio. The goal is to make it easier to keep drawing when the studio is unavailable.

Why it exists
Pose Library exists for the in between.
It's a tool built by artists who know consistency matters and that real life gets in the way. Studios close. Schedules clash. Travel happens. Energy runs low.
This is what you use when you can't make it to a live session, so there's no longer an excuse like:
- "I was out of town."
- "There wasn't a session nearby."
- "I didn't have time to get to the studio."
Our goal is simple: help artists keep showing up.
To keep your hand warm. Your eye sharp. And your practice alive.
So when you do get back in front of a live model, you're ready.
Who it's for
Pose Library is for artists who want more consistency in their practice, especially when they cannot attend live sessions as often as they would like.
That includes beginners building a habit, experienced artists keeping their eye active, students supplementing classes, and anyone trying to fit serious figure drawing practice into a crowded schedule.
How we think about reference
Good reference should help you study movement, structure, rhythm, and form without pretending to be a substitute for direct observation from life.
That is why Pose Library is built around practice. It is meant to help you show up, observe carefully, and draw more often, not to encourage passive scrolling or image collecting.
Trust and sourcing
Pose Library is built around original artist reference photography. We do not use AI to create or modify our pose images.
We work with real models, and the reference material is created with consent for this artistic and educational use. If you want to learn more about how we describe privacy, image use, and site rules, visit our Privacy and Terms pages.
If you want a simple place to start, visit Gesture Drawing Practice , open a drawing session, or browse the full Resources page.
Pose Library was created by Diego Olivares, an artist who built it to support daily figure drawing practice and make consistent study easier.
Life drawing is irreplaceable. Pose Library just helps you practice more often.
