1 Study picker

Choose the kind of reference you need. Your filter options change with the tab you select.

Body

Full figures for gesture, balance and proportion. Filter by reference type, model type and pose.

Anatomy

Closer studies of hands, arms and legs. Use Focus to choose a body part.

Portrait

Faces and head angles for portrait practice. Narrow the selection with Type.

Local

Draw from files on your device. In Studio, use Browse files to choose files; they stay in the current browser session and are not uploaded. Leaving or refreshing clears them.

Favorites

Return to references you have starred in Studio, including poses from different models. Use the star on a reference to save or remove it.

2 Model galleries

The model galleries shown here depend on your study tab and filters. Use Search galleries to find a gallery, then click its card to select it.

Want several models? Select Multi in Options, then choose more galleries. Local and Favorites use your own images or saved poses instead of this model picker.

3 Pose references

This grid contains the images from your selected model galleries, narrowed by your filters.

Click one image to open it in the pose viewer. For a timed sequence from this selection, set your counts and durations in the Pose timer, then choose Start Pose Viewer.

Preset times

Enter how many poses you want beside 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes or 5 minutes. The time is how long each pose stays on screen. Leave the count at 0 to skip a duration.

Custom times

Set your own pose count, minutes and seconds. Use + to add more custom timing rows, up to three in total. The example shows 6 poses displayed for 3 minutes each.

Start or reset

Start Pose Viewer begins your session using the selected references and timings. Reset clears the timing settings so you can make a new plan.

Session summary

Below the controls, you get the total duration and number of poses. Here, 6 poses at 3 minutes each makes an 18-minute session.

Single or Multi

Single selects one model gallery at a time. Multi lets you select several galleries and combine their references into one session. This choice is not used in Local or Favorites.

Default or Random

Default keeps the current image order. Random shuffles the references for your session.

Color or Black & white

Color shows the original image colors. Black & white removes color so you can focus on shapes and values.

Frequently asked questions

Why do the galleries or filters change when I switch tabs?

Body, Anatomy and Portrait use different reference types, so each tab has its own filters. A greyed-out choice has no matching references for your current selection. Try another gallery or choose Any to broaden the results.

Can I draw from more than one model?

Yes. Choose Multi in Options, then select the model galleries you want to combine. Single returns to one gallery at a time. This choice is not used in Local or Favorites.

How do I start a timed session?

Select your references, enter a pose count beside a preset or custom duration, then choose Start Pose Viewer. Each duration is how long one pose stays on screen. For help during playback, see the Photo Player Interface guide.

Are my Local images uploaded or saved?

No. Local uses files from your device in the current browser session. Refreshing or leaving the page clears them, so you will need to choose the files again.

How do I find a reference again?

Use the star on a reference to add it to Favorites, then open the Favorites tab to return to your starred poses. Use the star again to remove a reference from that selection.
